Day 1 – After making our pick-ups this morning, our deluxe motor coach makes its way south across the rolling hills of Kentucky and mountains of Tennessee and into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Our overnight accommodations await us in Morrow, GA.
Day 2– After an included breakfast, we continue our journey south and then east to Savannah, the land of Southern Belles, sweet tea and boiled peanuts. Lunch is on your own today. After checking into our hotel, the rest of the afternoon is free to explore Historic River Street in the Historic City Market area. This evening we enjoy a dinner/cruise and entertainment aboard the Georgia Queen, Savannah’s finest paddlewheel boat. (B,D)
Day 3 – Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Mid-morning we board an open-air trolley for the Paula Deen Tour! Paula’s “Rags to Riches” story will both inspire and entertain you. The tour includes lunch at Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House. This afternoon, we are joined by a local guide who will take us on the Savannah Movie Tour. You will visit several movie locations up close. Over 85 movies have been shot in Savannah with 10 Academy Awards going to these movies. The rest of the day and evening is free to shop, browse, and have dinner on your own. (B,L)
Day 4 – After an included breakfast at the hotel, we board our motor coach for the short trip over to Tybee Island, Savannah’s beach area. You will have time on your own, to explore the beach and other points of interest on the island. We will meet for an included lunch before we depart for St. Simon’s Island, our home for the next two nights. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free to have dinner on your own, enjoy the amenities of the hotel, take a stroll on the beach, or explore the area around the hotel. (B,L)
Day 5 – Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we are joined by a local guide for a tour of St. Simon’s Island. We then make the short trip over to Jekyll Island, where a local guide will board our motor coach for a tour of this historic island. You will have free time to shop or browse before we return to St. Simons Island. The rest of the evening is free after our included farewell dinner together. (B,D)
Day 6 – After our included breakfast at the hotel, we board our motor coach and take our leave of Savannah and the Golden Isles of Georgia, as we journey back into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to Marietta, GA for the night. Lunch and dinner will be on our own today. (B)
Day 7 – Today we skirt Lookout Mountain as we pass by Chattanooga and then across Oprymills shopping area for some browsing, shopping and lunch on our own. After lunch, we depart home. (B)
