Day 1-New Baden, IL-Columbus, OH Once again, American Classic Tours invites you to join with us as we journey to New England during the fall season. This year we are including more free time to shop, browse, and explore. This year’s itinerary is specially designed by Chris, as New England is one of his favorite destinations and a place that he is quite familiar with. Today is a full day as we motor coach across Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky and on to Columbus, OH for the night.
Day 2 – Columbus, OH-Niagara Falls, NY Niagara Falls, located on the Niagara River drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, and is the collective name for Horseshoe Falls and American Falls which combined, form the highest flow rate of any waterfalls in the world and has a vertical drop of 165 feet.
This afternoon you may choose to ride the Maid of the Mist boat right up to the base of the falls. This will be an unforgettable experience. This evening we travel the short distance towards Niagara Falls to have an included dinner at the Red Coach Inn. (D)
Day 3 –Niagara Falls, NY-Cooperstown, NY After an included breakfast, we enjoy a tour of Niagara Falls with a local guide on our motor coach. Then we’ll make our way across upper New York to the quaint little town of Cooperstown, home to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Lunch is on your own today, but tonight we savor an included dinner together at a locally owned and historic establishment. (D)
Day 4 –Cooperstown, NY-Burlington, VT We enjoy an included breakfast this morning and then tour The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. See exhibits and artifacts from past heroes such as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, and Hank Aaron to the stars of modern day such as Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, and Cal Ripken Jr.
We’ll then drive north across Lake Champlain by ferry to Burlington, VT. This evening enjoy a dinner/cruise on Lake Champlain aboard the Spirit of Ethan Allen, this 140’ foot vessel is Lake Champlain’s largest cruise ship. (D)
Day 5 –Burlington, VT-Montpelier, VT Make a delicious stop at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, manufactured here in Vermont. Tour the factory and taste some of this company’s unusual ice cream flavors. 
Cold Hollow Cider Mill founded nearly 40 years ago still continues to press cider today. You’ll have some time in the General Store. Stock up on locally produced items such as cheese, honey, and not to mention Vermont maple syrup.
Did you know…? Vermont has the nation’s largest granite quarry, “Rock of Ages”. The quarry is nearly 600 feet deep! Watch as quarriers cut enormous blocks of granite, as the cranes lift it out of the quarry, nearly 250 tons at a time. See how sculptors transform chucks of granite it to
works of art.
Day 6- Montpelier, VT – White River Junction, VT Quechee is also known for a picturesque covered bridge at the site of the old Quechee mill, which now houses a commercial glass-blowing facility. The bridge was severely damaged by flooding caused by hurricane Irene in 2011. You’ll will have some free time to shop or browse in Quechee Village.
This afternoon we board the White River Flyer. The first railroad to operate at this location was called the Champlain & Connecticut River Railroad Co. in Nov. 1843. It later became known as the Rutland & Burlington Railroad Co. Construction on the “Island” at Bellows Falls began in Feb.1847. The rails were laid from Bellows Falls to Burlington in April 1849. Service between Bellows Falls and Burlington began in Dec. 1849. This line in now used for tourism and minimum freight exchange. Travel to Pompanousuc Mills with a stop at the Montshire Museum. The train will travel along the majestic Connecticut River with a panoramic view of the White Mountain foothills and a causeway which serves as a wildlife sanctuary.
Day 7 – White River Junction, VT-Boston, MA We reluctantly leave Woodstock and drive to South Deerfield, MA and tour the Yankee Candle Flagship Store. The store draws 3 million visitors each year, offering not only the greatest variety of Yankee Candle scents, but also a unique atmosphere with a variety of interactive exhibits and Candle Making Museum. Boston is where you’ll lay your head the next two evenings. (L)
Day 8- Boston, MA Boston was the location of several major events during the American Revolution including the Boston Massacre and Boston Tea Party. Early battles of the Revolution took place at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Visit sites such as Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, Bunker Hill, Paul Revere sites, and the U.S.S. Constitution which is the oldest ship commissioned by the U.S. Navy. Joined by a local guide, enjoy a scenic and historic tour of Boston. We will stop for an included lunch at Anthony’s Pier Four Restaurant, one of Boston’s most famous eateries where President’s and movie stars have dined over the years. We continue our Boston tour after lunch and then return to the hotel. This evening is free for you to explore the area and have dinner on your own. Recommendations will be given by tour manager by request.

Day 9-Boston, MA-Stockbridge MA-Great Barrington, MA “Norman Rockwell’s, “Main Street USA” still stands in the village of Stockbridge. With time to browse and shop here along the historic main street where the white gloved police officers still direct traffic. Enjoy an included lunch at the historical Red Lion Inn, where people have gathered to eat and sleep for over 200 year. You’ll stop at Norman Rockwell’s studio where he lived and painted for the last 25 years of his life. Our accommodations await us in Great Barrington, MA (L)
Day 10-Barrington, MA-Lancaster, PA What a great day awaits us as we travel into the Amish Country in Lancaster, PA. We stop for an Amish lunch, after which we have free time to shop and browse before we drive to the Sight & Sound Theater to enjoy a performance of “Jonah”. After the show, we enjoy an included dinner and the rest of the evening is free. (D)
Day 11-Lancaster, PA-Columbus, OH After an included breakfast, we leave this Amish Country and drive to Columbus, OH for the night. This evening we get together for our included farewell dinner. (D)
Day 12- Our New England Fall adventure is drawing to a close today. We enjoy an included breakfast before we load and board our motor coach for the return trip home. We expect a late afternoon return
