Day 1 – Today we meet new travel friends and begin our journey to the Southwest Canyon Lands and Las Vegas. As we cross through Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri, our accommodations await us in Joplin, MO.
Day 2– Our breakfast is included at the hotel this morning before we travel to Oklahoma City, where we enjoy an included lunch. After lunch, we tour the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum where you may revisit one of the largest terrorist attacks on American soil. Our visit takes us through this historical event beginning early morning April 19, 1995 and ending with a message of hope for today. We continue traveling onto Amarillo, TX, for the night. Dinner is on your own this evening. (B,L)
Day 3 – Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. Today our deluxe motor coach takes us to Albuquerque, NM. The afternoon and evening are free to shop, browse and explore “Old Town” and have lunch and dinner on your own. Old Town Albuquerque is a maze of cobbled courtyard walkways leading to hidden patios and gardens, where many of Old Town’s 150 galleries and shops are located. Adobe style buildings are grouped around a tree-shaded plaza, created in 1780. (B)
Day 4 – After our included breakfast at the hotel, we motorcoach toward one of the truly marvelous creations of nature, The Grand Canyon. We pass through the spectacular Kaibab National Forest, as we approach the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Lunch and dinner are on your own today. From our hotel, enjoy a short walk or a shuttle to the south rim of the canyon. (B)
Day 5 – We are joined this morning by a local guide who will give us a tour of the Canyon area. Later in the morning, we begin traveling to Lake Powell Resort, our home for the next two nights. Along the way, we stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post, which has become a showplace for Native American and Southwest art. We will enjoy an included lunch here in the Cameron dining room, dominated by its large stone fireplaces with tall picture windows with views of the Little Colorado River Gorge. After lunch, we drive through vermillion cliffs, beautiful desert scenery, on our way to Lake Powell Resort. This evening enjoy the resort area and have dinner on your own.
Day 6 – After an included breakfast, the rest of the morning and afternoon is free to enjoy the amenities of the resort, shop, browse, stroll the beach, and enjoy the area around the beautiful blue waters of Lake Powell. Lunch is on your own today. This evening we enjoy a Canyon Princess Yacht Cruise and dinner on Lake Powell and feast on a delicious meal. The landscape of Lake Powell extends into both Arizona and Utah and is like no other place on earth. What a great way to end the day. (B, D)
Day 7 – After an included breakfast, we travel to Bryce Canyon National Park. We will stop at the visitor’s center to see exhibits and watch a short award winning film on Bryce Canyon Park. Lunch is on your own today. Later this afternoon we drive on to Zion National Park. Our accommodations and included dinner awaits us this evening at the Zion Park Inn. (B,D)
Day 8 – After breakfast, we take the morning to enjoy the breathtaking views of Zion National Park, including a stop at the visitor’s center. After lunch on your own, our motor coach makes its way to the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, NV. After checking into our hotel the rest of the day and evening are your to explore the Las Vegas strip or relax and enjoy the hotel amenities and have dinner on your own. (B)
Day 9 – After your included breakfast at the hotel, the entire day and evening is yours to enjoy all that is Las Vegas –the shows, the casinos, nightlife, and fun. Your tour manager is available to assist you with information or questions. (B)
Day 10 – Breakfast is included at the hotel before we depart for Moab, UT., where our accommodations await us. Today is a travel day with meal and rest stops along the way. Lunch and dinner are on your own today. (B)
Day 11 – Breakfast is included this morning before a local guide joins us to take us on a tour of the Arches National Park. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms unlike any other in the world. We are in for a treat for lunch today as we stop at the Red Cliffs Lodge for an included lunch. What a beautiful view is ours through the large glass windows in the dining area as we enjoy our leisurely lunch. After lunch, we travel on to Denver, CO. for the night. Dinner is on your own tonight. (B,L)
Day 12 – We enjoy an included breakfast this morning and then drive through Colorado and Kansas to Dodge City, KS. Lunch is on your own today. Tonight the festivities include some good food and entertainment in Dodge City, a part of the history of the “Old Wild West”. (B,D)
Day 13 – After breakfast at the hotel, we board our motor coach for the journey to Independence, MO. We stop in Topeka, KS, for lunch on your own. Time permitting; we will stop at the Presidential Library and Museum in Independence, MO. We have a special treat awaiting us this afternoon and evening as we enjoy our included farewell dinner together. Our last night together is in Independence, MO. (B,D)
Day 14 – This morning, enjoy an included breakfast at our hotel before we begin our journey home with great memories and good times with our fellow travelers. Hopefully we have some good photos to show friends and family back home. We stop at St. Clair Mall in Fairview Heights, IL for lunch on your own before returning home. (B)
